The Lobos of Snowflake played their first 12 games either at a tournament site or at the opponent’s school and compiled a 6-6 record in those outings.

They finally got to play at home last Wednesday night against Window Rock. The comforts of the home confines served them well as they edged the Scouts 77-73. Despite playing on their home court they didn’t shoot the ball that well from the perimeter or from the free throw line, but still put together enough points to secure their seventh win of the season.

Trey Schneider recorded a double double with 16 points and 18 rebounds. Koy Kelley added 13; Mason Willis, 12; Dylan Kay, 9; Garson Hatch, 6; Zach Solomon, 5; and Garrett Wood, Dylan Ervien, Tanner Willis and Dallin Chapman, 4 each.

Snowflake attempted 22 three-point shots, but made only six, and went 15 for 27 at the free throw line.

Playing at home once again last Friday night the Lobos came up short against Florence, losing to the Gophers 70-59.

Schneider again led in scoring with 19 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Chapman netted 10; Hatch, 8; Mason Willis, 6; Tanner Willis, Wood and Kelley, 4 each; and Ervien and Solomon, 2 each.

In this game Snowflake struggled even more from distance, making just 3 of 21 attempts. At the line the Lobos converted 8 of 19 charity tosses.

On Saturday the Lobos made the long trip to Chandler to face a very good Valley Christian team. The Trojans proved worthy at home, handling the Lobos 76-51.

Chapman led in scoring with 14 points. Schneider added 10; Ervien, 9; Tanner Willis, Hatch, Wood and Solomon, 4 each; and Kelley, 2. Their three-point shooting percentage improved as they hit 5 of 16 attempts. At the line they were 18 for 35.

Snowflake headed into Tuesday’s home court match up with Winslow with an overall mark of 7-8. After hosting the Bulldogs, the Lobos will be off for the holidays before resuming play on Friday, Jan. 6, when they host Payson.
