With their finish outside of the top 16 in the power point standings, the Joseph City Lady Wildcats needed to at least get into the championship match at the 1A Central Region tournament held in Mayer over the weekend to have a chance to advance to the post-season. The Cats defeated Mayer in the first round three games to two, but their season came to a close in a 3-0 loss to Mogollon in the second round. Joseph City ended the regular season with an overall record of 8-10.
The Wildcats will lose seniors Autum VanHemert, Mary Larsen and Kaylee Palmer, but the majority of their team will return next season.
