Cross Country 2

The Native American Christian Academy Warriors ran in their league’s cross country championship Oct. 6 and successfully defended their crown by winning yet another cross country title against six other teams.

The Warriors’ Vann Dewey placed second overall and Heavyn Halwood placed third overall to help pace the runners. Andrea Villalba paced the girls and won first place for the second year in a row.

The Warriors will now turn to volleyball in the Desert Pine Sports League.

While finishing the Desert Pine Sports League in cross country, the runners are still participating in cross country on the reservation in the Navajo Hopi Junior High League.

The runners have shown they can compete at a high level even in that league and look to be one of the favorites in both the male and female competition.
