A former employee of the City of Holbrook is seeking monetary compensation for the personal impact of events he alleges transpired during his employment.
Louie Baldonado was employed by the city as the director of the Recreation Department when he was terminated in April of this year by former city manager Ray Alley. Baldonado is now seeking reparations in the amount of $250,000.
Baldonado and five other employees of the city previously filed a lawsuit seeking $10.5 million after alleging abuse of power, intentional infliction of emotional distress, pay and racial discrimination, sexual harassment and invasion of privacy on the part of Alley. That lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice in the U.S. District Court last December.
This latest claim is seeking monetary compensation for pain and suffering and the associated medical costs, punitive damages, lost wages and attorney’s fees. The claim notes that Baldonado and his attorney Eduardo Coronado with the Coronado Law Firm hope to come to an amicable settlement with the city before proceeding further with the claim.
