A business awareness training sponsored by the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce will be held Wednesday, June 1, in an effort to educate the local workforce in the service industry regarding what the area has to offer. “The effort is to encourage especially hotel and restaurant employees to attend and see what the Petrified Forest is all about so that they can take it back and share that information with other employees. We want them to be able to tell visitors to the city what there is to do here and hopefully stay longer,” explained Chamber Director Billie Perkins. The training will begin with a customer service presentation at 9 a.m. in classroom NLC 136 on the Northland Pioneer College campus in Holbrook. A tour of Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert will follow, leaving from the campus at 9:30 a.m. and returning at 1 p.m. The chamber is encouraging business owners, managers and employees to attend this training. For more information and to register, call the chamber at (928) 241-3311.
