The Wildcats placed 10th in the boys’ division of the Blue Ridge Invitational meet held last Friday in Lakeside and tied for 12th in the girls’ team competition.
The top three teams for boys were Snowflake, Payson and Show Low. For the girls, it was Show Low in first, followed by Blue Ridge and Payson. Twenty-one teams competed in the meet.
In the boys’ 100 meter dash, Joe Burt was 48th in 13.63; and Josh Fisher, 52nd.
In the 400 meter dash, Forester Flake took third with a time of 54.25.
In the 800 meter run, Forester Flake took 27th with a time of 2:28.
In the 1600 meter run, Stephen Williams placed 50th with a time of 6:10.
In the 3200 meter run, Eligh Ashcroft placed 18th with a time of 11:54.
In the shot put, Adrian Baloo placed 20th with a toss of 33-07; Ben Spurlock, 44th; and Brandon Yazzie, 53rd.
In the discus, Adrian Baloo placed 54th with a throw of 62-00; and Brandon Yazzie, 56th.
In the long jump, Matt Fields placed fourth with a distance of 19-08.5; and Josh Fisher, 39th.
Matt Fields took first place in the triple jump with a distance of 43-00.25.
In the girls’ 200 meter dash, Sarah Layden placed 32nd with a time of 32.46.
In the 400 meter dash, Sarah Layden placed 15th with a time of 1:10; and Abby Hunt, 33rd.
In the 800 meter run, Kaylie Gardner placed fourth with a time of 2:44; Rachel Layden, 20th; Shyann Flake, 22nd; and Abby Hunt, 35th.
In the 1600 meter run, Alyssa Hutchens placed 40th with a time of 8:16.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Rachel Layden finished ninth with a time of 59.45; and Leigh Neal, 17th.
Sarah Layden, Alyssa Hutchens, Leigh Neal and Kaylie Gardner placed 11th in the 4×100 meter relay.
In the 4×800 meter relay, Sarah Layden, Shyann Flake, Rachel Layden and Kaylie Gardner placed fourth with a time of 11:10.
In the shot put, Hailey Rush placed 34th with a toss of 20-07.
In the discus, Hailey Rush placed 49th with a throw of 38-04.
In the long jump, Alyssa Hutchens placed 24th with a distance of 11-06.
