By Sam Conner The Bulldog wrestling team won the sectional tournament they hosted Saturday at Winslow with 240 points to 233 for second place St. Johns. There were 14 teams placing in the tournament. The third place team was Hopi with 100.5 points. No other team had 100 or more points. Ganado was fourth with 97 points, followed by Monument Valley with 89; Red Mesa, 60; Window Rock, 59; Joseph City, 53; Shonto Prep, 38.5; Tuba City, 27; Many Farms, 21; Piñon, 9; Northland Prep, 7; and Rough Rock, 4. At 106 pounds, Kaiden Smith of St. Johns placed first, followed by Jason Laban of Hopi, Dominic Gishie of Ganado and Myron Hudson of Monument Valley. At 113 pounds, Preston Betoney of Winslow placed first, foillowed by Jimmyzan Redhorse of Window Rock, Cameron Peshtony of Ganado and Shayne Yazzie of Tuba City. At 120 pounds, Blane Foster of Winslow placed first, followed by Levi Ashton of St. Johns, Troy Tuckfield of Joseph City and Dru Quochytewa of Hopi. At 126 pounds, Quincy Foster of Winslow placed first, followed by Austin Oppen of St. Johns, Bryan Moreno of Monument Valley and Cameron Baldwin of Joseph City. At 132 pounds, Trent Sherwood of St. Johns placed first, followed by Xavier Hunt of Monument Valley, Roderick Begay Jr. of Many Farms and Lameman Ian of Red Mesa. At 138 pounds, Dawson Avila of St. Johns placed first, followed by Michael Dinsmore of Winslow, Toby Ellis of Monument Valley and Keithfer Jim of Red Mesa. At 145 pounds, Hunter Ellsworth of St. Johns placed first, followed by Andrew Kendall of Winslow, Eligh Ashcroft of Joseph City and Marco Raccio of Hopi. At 152 pounds, Rio Raykovitz of St. Johns placed first, followed by Damian Lomatewayma of Hopi, Zach Pollard of Winslow and Ethan Kaye of Window Rock. At 160 pounds, Darrien Brown of Winslow placed first, followed by Pacer Wiltbank of St. Johns, Irvin Chee of Hopi and Ted Parkah of Shonto Prep. At 170 pounds, Carnelius Nez of Window Rock placed first, followed by Colton Kidwell of St. Johns, Preston Greenwood of Winslow and Brett Nez of Tuba City. At 182 pounds, Liam King of Ganado placed first, followed by Damon Avelar of Winslow, Jeremy Jones of Hopi and Jevon Aguero of Shonto Prep. At 220 pounds, Brandon Naegle of St. Johns placed first, followed by Quentin Begody of Winslow, Trent Peterson of Ganado and Emmanuel Slinkey of Window Rock.
