By Greg Perkins The Snowflake Lobos moved to 18-3 on the season by posting three more victories last week, two over Blue Ridge and one over Holbrook. The first Blue Ridge matchup last Wednesday resulted in a 69-57 win. Jordan Gardner hit four three-point shots to lead the team in scoring with 14 points. He also pulled down 14 rebounds. Kurt Wood had 12 points with 10 boards. Ty Pawlick netted 10 points; Kegan Bjornn, 9; Dallin Chapman, 8; Tyler Claridge, 6; Garson Hatch, 4; and Trey Schneider and Koy Kelley, 3 each. Last Friday night the Lobos ran out to a sizeable lead on the visiting Roadrunners in the first half only to see Holbrook close the gap quickly in the third. Over the final eight minutes the Lobos poured in 19 points, helping them secure the 65-58 win. Bjornn led the way in scoring with 14, followed by Wood with 11; Pawlick and Gardner, 10 each; Claridge and Chapman, 8 each; and Hatch and Jake Lyman, 2 each. Saturday’s strange scheduling had the Lobos meeting Blue Ridge again, this time in Lakeside. The two games were only four days apart, and the outcomes were similar. Snowflake won the second game 79-54. Gardner seems to like his matchup with the Yellowjackets, as he poured in 21 points in the second meeting. Bjornn added 16; Wood, 11; Claridge, 8; Chapman, 6; Lyman, 5; Schneider, 4; Pawlick, 3; and Hatch, 2. Snowflake entered the week ranked 10th in power points with an 8-2 record. The Lobos will play at Winslow tonight (Jan. 20), host Page on Friday, Jan. 22, then travel to Monument Valley on Saturday, Jan. 23. On Wednesday, Jan. 27, they will hit the road once again for a trip to Tuba City.
