The Lady Lobo of Snowflake used a 3-2 record at the Sedona Red Rock Tournament last weekend to improve their overall season mark to 6-3 as they head into their final games prior to the Christmas break. The Snowflake squad didn’t head to the tournament on a positive note, however, as it suffered a 52-49 overtime loss to Blue Ridge last Wednesday night in a regular season power point contest.

The Lobos opened pool play in the tournament on Thursday with a 59-52 loss to host team Sedona. They bounced back later that evening building a large lead over Red Mesa before hanging on to win 53-40.

On Friday they met up with familiar Show Low and easily cruised past the Lady Cougars, 51-18. Friday’s second game was against a highly confident Round Valley team, which handed the Lobos a 56-45 setback. The Lady Elks had just upset Holbrook and used that momentum to cruise into the semifinals of the tournament where they fell to Safford in a close game.

Snowflake’s final game of the tournament was a 61-40 win over Many Farms early Saturday afternoon.

After hoping to avenge last week’s loss to Blue Ridge on Tuesday when the Lady Jackets traveled to Snowflake, the Lobos will play at Show Low on Thursday, Dec. 17, then will travel to Estrella Foothills on Friday, Dec. 18, for their final game prior to Christmas. They will also play in the Valley Christian Tournament scheduled Dec. 28-30 in Chandler.
