A free e-waste recycling event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Navajo County facility located at 251 N. Penrod Road in Show Low. Sponsors include the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Navajo County, the City of Show Low, the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside, Northland Pioneer College and E-Waste Harvesters. Items that will be accepted include computers, laptops, servers, mouse, keyboard, cable(s), cord(s), televisions, monitors (no more than two per vehicle), DVD players, VHS players, cassette players, video game consoles/accessories, speakers, stereo equipment, phones, cell phones, answering machines, any wire or cabling, printed circuit boards, microwave ovens, toasters, printers, fax machines, rechargeable and alkaline batteries (non-vehicle) and chargers. All hard drives will be shredded so no one can access your personal information.
