The Snowflake/Taylor Recreation and Parks Department has placed two Pickleball Courts at Fredrickson Park, just west of the softball field.
Pickleball was created with one thing in mind: fun. It is designed to be easy to learn and play whether you’re young or just young at heart. The games are great exercise for all. It is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Rules of the game can be found online or are available at Snowflake Town Hall. There are also paddles and balls that can be checked out to anyone who would like to give it a try.
Karen Carmen and Bill Schwab of Snowflake are avid players, and will be introducing the sport at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the Snowflake Courts. Don’t worry about balls or paddles. Just come out and give it a go.
USA Pickleball Ambassador George Gragg, who lives in the White Mountains, is helping promote the activity in the area.
