Girl Scouts of Troop 151 present a donation of $475 from their cookie sales to the Holbrook Animal Shelter. Among those on hand for the presentation are (left to right) Friends of the Shelter volunteer Kim Jaster, Ashley Speers, Isabella Moyte, Elizabeth Parker, Ariah Johnson, Sara Speers, Elena Martinez and Animal Control Officer Merrill Young. Girl Scouts who aided in the fundraiser, but are not pictured, include Talyssa Larson, Kaiitlyn Gishi, Grace Long, Zoe Daniels and Alexia Ferniza. The money will be used to purchase vaccines and fix animals to prepare them for adoptions or rescues. Friends of the Shelter, a volunteer group, is also working on getting its non-profit status and some of the money might help that cause. The check is made out to the Holbrook Veterinary Clinic because it has an account to help the shelter animals. If you are interested in donating, go online to www.holbrookvetclinic.com and specify “Animal Shelter” in the donation box or stop by the office at 105 Airport Road to make a donation in person.
