The Joseph City School District will host a public reopening of the indoor pool at Joseph City Junior/Senior High School from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. Admission to the pool will be free. The Booster Club will be selling hot dogs and the JOM Committee will be selling fry bread. During the event a $1,000 check will be presented to the JCJHS Physical Education Department from the Arizona Physical Therapist Association that will be used to purchase equipment to be utilized as part of the curriculum in a pool unit for students. Over the course of the past year the pool has been closed for a deep cleaning and the installation of a new ventilation system that has been engineered to ensure proper air quality and humidity levels are maintained in the facility. This system will be completely automated, and includes sensor controls and dampers that utilize outside air to minimize utility expenses. An alert system will also be installed that will provide alerts if air quality is not within appropriate levels. The public is invited to attend the reopening and enjoy a free night of swimming.
