The Lady Wildcats fell to top seeded Ft. Thomas in the opening round of the section tournament last Tuesday. That loss left them as the final team in the 24-team state tournament field.
As the 24th seed, Joseph City will face No. 9 Scottsdale Prep at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, at Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott. The Lady Spartans finished the season with an impressive 24-3 overall record and will be a formidable opponent for the Wildcats to overcome. If they can pull the upset, the Cats would advance in the bracket to face No. 8 Phoenix Christian on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Joseph City enters the state tourney with an overall record of 17-10.
