Serving aces, led by Deidra Nez, the Sun Valley Indian School Warriors bombarded the Vernon Huskies with great team play last Thursday, coasting to victory 25-13 and 25-13. Carlton Nez and Aysa Benally both were threats as they led in kills. The Warriors embodied the teamwork concept Coach Kris Miller employs and it paid off with their second victory of the season, leaving them 2-0. The SVIS junior varsity forfeited a set due to player infractions, then fought to take the second set, 25-21. The third set was less of a struggle as the young Warriors found a little bit of rhythm early and coasted to a 15-7 victory to earn their first win of the season. They are now 1-1 on the year.
