As expected, the Lobos easily ran past visiting Globe last Friday night by a margin of 63-6. The win marked Snowflake’s seventh in a row since losing to Seton Catholic on Sept. 12.

With the Division IV State Football Playoffs set to begin on Saturday, Nov. 8, the Lobos having been building all season and appear to be peaking at the right time. Snowflake landed fourth in the final power point rankings with a record of 9-1. As the four seed, the Lobos will host 13th seeded Combs on Saturday, with kickoff set for 6 pm. The Coyotes went 7-3 on the season, winning four of their last six, including last week’s 55-10 victory over Coronado. Snowflake will welcome in a team used to playing in the heat at a lower elevation. The Coyotes will find the elevation rising and the temperature dropping in what figures to be their final game of the season.

A Snowflake victory would guarantee the Lobos one final home game, as they would host either No. 5 Coolidge or No. 12 Florence the next Saturday. Snowflake fans are hoping for a semifinal rematch with Seton Catholic, which finished as the number one overall seed with a perfect record of 10-0. The Sentinels should roll over their first round opponent Page, which is the 16th seed.
