Western songwriter Kerry Grombacher will be performing a free concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Holbrook Public Library. Grombacher is a nationally renowned performer, sharing the stories of his travels through song in the spirit of a true troubadour.
“I’m really looking forward to returning to Holbrook Public Library and to historic Route 66,” stated Grombacher, who performed in Holbrook in 2009.
His songs tell the story of the places he’s traveled from the bayous of Louisiana to the deserts of the Southwest. “Route 66 looms large in our romantic vision of travel in the West. It’s inspired me to write songs and it’s taken me to parts of the country I might not have seen,” he said.
Grombacher plays guitar and mandolin, writes contemporary folk and western songs, and has sung on stages across the nation. He was featured on the adventure travel show Born to Explore and on a recent Putumayo World Records CD, Cowboy Playground, which was released in more than 60 countries. He has released three CDs of original songs and other artists have recorded several of his tunes.
The Holbrook Library is located at 403 Park St. For more information on the event, call 524-3732.
