Students at Joseph City Junior/Senior High School were released from school early last Friday after a small fire reportedly broke out in the woods shop on campus. According to reports from the district office, it was suspected that sparks from a belt sander got into the ventilation system, causing the fire and creating a great deal of smoke. Teachers evacuated students from the school when the alarm sounded and no injuries were reported. The students were dismissed from school early as a precautionary measure until the situation could be investigated.
