If you’re looking for something to do in Holbrook, a fun and quirky project by artist Dwayne Hawk will likely keep you busy, and get you or your kids out of the house.
Hawk has invited anyone who is interested to get together to create works of art for Free Art Friday. Those who take part create small pieces of art made from cardboard, fabric, magazine cutouts, paint and any other available materials, then hide them in public places throughout the community for people to find.
The first batch of artwork went out last Friday. Anyone who finds one of the mini art pieces is invited to keep the treasure and to post a photo of them with the art on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/FAF86025.
Hawk plans to make the creative session a monthly event and invites anyone, young or old, to participate. He emphasizes that all hidden artwork is in a public place, none are on private land. To get in on the fun, visit the Free Art Friday Facebook page and keep an eye out for art that might be right under your nose.
