By Greg Perkins The Lady Wildcats entered the Division IV State Softball Tournament as the 24th and final seed in the bracket, but their stay in the post-season didn’t last long. Joseph City was blanked by ninth seeded Valley Christian 10-0 in five innings of play on last Saturday morning at the Rose Mofford Softball Complex in Phoenix. The Lady Trojans were 17-10 on the season, and their starting pitcher, Mara Kemmer, gave the Wildcats fits at the plate. She allowed just one Wildcat hit while striking out 14 and walking just one batter. Joseph City played well through two innings trailing just 1-0 heading into the third. The Cats gave up two more in the third, but were still in the game until the fourth frame, where they allowed the lead to balloon to 10 with a seven-run inning by Valley Christian. Joseph City finished the season with an overall mark of 10-19 under first year coach Kacey Halbison.
