By Greg Perkins Though they needed to win most of their remaining games to make the post-season, the Lady Wildcats of Joseph City went just 1-3 in games played last week. They dropped the first game of a doubleheader against Rough Rock on Tuesday, then bounced back to win the second game 16-11. Thursday’s game with Round Valley didn’t go their way, with the Lady Elks prevailing 24-3. Friday’s outcome with Northland Prep was a similar one for the Cats, who came out on the wrong end of a 24-3 final. Joseph City has just three games left in the season. The Cats will host Rock Point in a doubleheader today (April 23), then play in their season finale on Monday at St. Johns. The Cats are ranked outside the top 24 in the power rankings, and even with wins in their final three games, will most likely come up short of the state tournament this season.
