By Greg Perkins The Lady Wildcats of Joseph City have won four of their past five games, with all four wins counting in the power point standings. On April 3, Joseph City took both games of a twin bill over Red Mesa, winning 21-6 in the first game and 15-3 in the second. Last Thursday, the Wildcats picked up a 10-run win over Valley Sanders with a 17-7 final score. On Saturday they hosted Fredonia in a doubleheader contest in breezy conditions. The Cats easily won the first game, 14-4, but had the tables turned on them in the second with a 20-9 loss to the Lady Lynx. Heading into the second to the last week of the season, the Wildcats are 4-5 in power point contests, leaving them ranked 30th overall. They need to pick up critical wins over the next two weeks to make the state tournament. After playing a doubleheader contest at Rough Rock on Tuesday, they will host Round Valley on Thursday, April 17, then they are slated to play Northland Prep on Friday in Flagstaff.
