Muralist Wes Abarca creating another vibrant work of public art, this time transforming the exterior walls of the Mr. G’s building along U.S. Route 66 in Joseph City. Abarca has been steadily adding color to the region’s Route 66 corridor, completing murals on three buildings in Holbrook and two more in Winslow. The newest piece features the beloved pet of Mr. G’s owners, Bryan and Julie Fields as well as a Route 66 shield for a great photo opportunity. Abarca says he hopes his work encourages other artists in the region to share their creativity and leave their own mark on their communities. To see more of Abarca’s artwork, follow him on Facebook at www.facebook.com/wes7svn or on Instagram @wes7svn.
