The Silver Creek Regional Humane Society needs help with foster and sanctuary supplies. Along with adoptable in-home cats and dogs, 12 additional foster dogs are living in outdoor kennels in a temporary loca-tion. Unfortunately, the society does not yet have an indoor shelter or kennel. All society animals in care de-pend on families to provide temporary care. Silver Creek is a no-kill organization, and provides care for ani-mals taken either in long term foster, foster/adopt or permanent forever homes. Donations requested include worn rugs, carpet pieces, blankets (suitable for bedding), cat litter, bleach, laundry soap, puppy pads, canned cat/dog food, treats. and safe toys or safe chew bones for large and small breed animals in care. A donation receipt will gladly be given. Volunteer support is also needed in various ways, or to help promote the society goals and mission. Long-term goals include a donation of property that can be converted into a shelter for animals in care and those to come. The preferred location is in or near Holbrook, providing intake for companion/barnyard critters from the communities of Snowflake, Taylor, Joseph City and Winslow. As a source of income, the society collects aluminum pet food and drink cans, newspapers and Purina cir-cles with bag weight, found on the outside of the bag or box of most cat and dog food. If the food is Purina Beyond, cut off the bar codes. Circles can be mailed to Silver Creek Humane Society, P.O. Box 592, Hol-brook, Ariz. 86025-0592. For donation drop off locations or additional information on the society, call (928) 554-7029, Trudi T. at (928) 243-8295, Jim at (602) 758-7811, or Barbara O. at (928) 554-7029 or 205-8027. The society’s mission is to address and prevent cruelty to animals through public education, community awareness and responsible pet ownership of the highest quality; to eliminate pet overpopulation and its accom-panying pain and suffering through free and/or discounted spay/neuter, vaccination programs; and placement of all healthy companion pets in loving forever homes.
