By Naomi Hatch The Taylor Town Council agreed Aug. 1 to take over maintenance of Charlois Circle Road. Contractor Day Ellsworth entered an agreement with the town in 1999 to take over the Four Mile Estates road upon completion. “It took doing a little at a time developing this subdivision and doing it in sections,” Ellsworth explained last week. “There was a lot of expense developing this,” said Ellsworth, noting he had to bring utilities from El Ran-cho Grande subdivision. “This was all done with inspections and approvals.” A section of ribbon curb had buckled so Ellsworth left that piece so the town could inspect it. “It will be taken care of quickly,” he said. Ellsworth further requested that he be allowed to continue to mow along the sides of the road to keep it beautiful, which the town appreciates greatly. “I drove it again this morning,” said Councilman Gary Solomon. “I’ve seen quite a few roads and done quite a few of them. All in all it’s in pretty good shape.” “We would be very pleased to accept it,” said Town Manager Eric Duthie. “Mr. Ellsworth has done a good job on it.” Town Engineer Stu Spaulding agreed with Duthie, stating, “It meets all of the town standards and exceeds them.” A motion to approve a request that the town accept Charlois Circle into the town roadway system for main-tenance passed unanimously. In other business, the council unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement between the town and the Arizona Department of Transportation, Aeronautics Division that authorizes partnership of pavement preservation projects at the Taylor Municipal Airport. Councilman Jared Hatch explained that this is to maintain part of the taxiway with crack repair, reinstalling tie-down assemblies, and rubberized asphalt overlay on a portion of the taxiway and ramp, along with replac-ing overlay covered pavement markings.
