“This is apparently a pretty good tool and we’re going to use it to the best of our ability,” said Taylor Town Manager Eric Duthie of a series of surveys printed on the back of the town’s water/sewer bills.

Duthie reported on survey results at the April 4, council meeting, noting, “We’re receiving a lot of feedback,” including some surveys returned after they tallied results.

There are just under 1,300 bills sent each month and 215 of the first surveys were returned.

The question, Is Walmart beneficial to Taylor?, garnered 211 responses, with 81 percent yes and 19 percent no.

Question two, Did you know Taylor now has a 100-year assured water supply?, received 215 responses, with 25 percent yes and 75 percent no.

Duthie said they are working to get the survey online, and it will include a box for comments.

The April water bills were recently mailed and included three questions: Did you know Taylor’s base water rate has risen by $1 since 1993?; Should the State of Arizona decide how Taylor spends its money?; and Did you volunteer at a Taylor-sponsored event?
