The board conducted a review of the salary schedule and approved contracts for workers for the 2012-13 school year. The salary schedule will provide the district with the ability to offer starting teachers a salary of $34,000. It also offers a one-time two percent increase to retire/rehire employees to make up for the amount they are being required to pay to the state retirement fund, increases bus drivers’ salaries to $13 per hour and contains several other changes.
Superintendent Watson said that May 18, which was scheduled as an early release day, will not be used as such.
