For several years the Town of Taylor has paid the majority of the cost for a spring clean up, but in a unanimous vote last week the council chose not to fund this year’s clean up.
Concern was expressed about illegal dumping. Nolan Larson of Larson Waste was present and suggested they work together to bring costs down.
The town budgeted $7,000 for the clean up, but council members felt that money could go to the Special Days/Special Events Committee for the three celebrations, July 4th, Trapper Day and the Sweet Corn Festival.
Staff members were asked to organize a Taylor Clean Up Day that would benefit the town and promote the local trash companies. They will work with the waste companies to come up with a day and provide advertising for it.
