Freddie Bernard Myers, 60, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, in Tucson. For funeral service information, please call Owens Livingston Mortuary at (928) 524-3823. Fred was born Nov. 12, 1950, in Morton, Miss. to SA and Katie M. (Davis) Myers. At one time, Freddie played basketball with the Harlem Travelers. He had a generous heart for others; he gave his life to the Lord. Freddie is loved and will be missed by his family. Survivors include his wife, Joann Myers; his children, Frank, Tinika, Sharriffa, Olajuwon, Fredrica, Laswavian, Destiny and Reggie; his mother, Katie (Melvin) Hargrow; his brothers and sisters, Dorothy Jackson Smith, Lester Myers, Quincy Woods and Debra Holt; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, SA Myers; and a brother, Robert Myers. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook is in charge of the arrangements.
