Visitors may know Petrified Forest National Park from the view through a car window, but exploring on horseback offers an entirely different perspective. The Painted Desert Wilderness access trail begins about two miles north of the Painted Desert Visitor Center near Kachina Point and provides access for horse owners to tour the park.
