Former Navajo County Recorder Timothy Jordan has been sentenced by Pima County Judge J. Alan Goodwin to 18 months probation after pleading guilty to charges of disorderly conduct with a weapon, a non-dangerous, non-repetitive undesignated class 6 felony, and misconduct involving weapons, a class 1 misdemeanor following a 2024 incident in Show Low where Jordan encountered a 2002 GMC Yukon near White Mountain Christian Academy in which Jordan told officers the Yukon was tailgating him aggressively, and he believed he was being threatened. He originally claimed three men exited the vehicle, with two allegedly brandishing firearms, and threatened him. But after a review of surveillance footage from the school and interviewing witnesses, the evidence did not correspond with Jordan’s claim. Instead, the video showed Jordan leaving his own vehicle and approaching the Yukon while holding his hand on the firearm on his waist.
Jordan resigned from his position following the plea. The prosecuting attorney was Deputy County Attorney Eric Ruchensky with Coconino County Attorney’s Office. Jordan was represented by Attorney Joseph Finch.
