Looking for a unique family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration? Then make your way to Holbrook for the second annual Tumbleweed Drop to take place from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) at the Historic Navajo County Courthouse, located at 100 E. Arizona St.
This fun and quirky event celebrates the plant that stands as a symbol for the high desert and as such, is worthy of being the focus of a New Year celebration. The event will feature live music by The Morsels out of Flagstaff, hot cider, souvenirs and a viewing of the Outer Limits episode from 1964, Cry of Silence which tells the story of a traveling couple stranded in the desert only to face attacking tumbleweeds. There will also be the crowning of the Tumbleweed Royalty and of course the drop of the tumbleweed at 9 p.m. to signify the New Year.
Come out for a fun celebration and bring the entire family.
