Happy New Year’s Eve! Here’s to a year of accomplishments and celebrations across all our communities. And what better way to kick things off than with Holbrook’s family-friendly New Year’s tradition, the annual Tumbleweed Drop. It’s the city’s fun, quirky salute to the region’s most famous (and sometimes most annoying) plant. I attended last year, and it was pure joy watching kids race around the courtyard with glow sticks, families dancing to live music and, of course, the always-entertaining crowning of the Tumbleweed Royalty.

What a great opportunity to take the family out, have a great time then tuck the kiddos back with a sitter and head out for a late night with friends. I think we can all agree we need more celebrations and this holiday will be the perfect way to start off the year.
