Snowflake’s girls wrestling team placed fourth at the 7th Annual Veterans Memorial tournament hosted by Window Rock High School. Miyamura, N.M., won the team score with 171.5. Bel Air, Texas, was second with 146.5, and Hank, Texas, was third with 137. Round Valley placed fifth with 118.
Snowflake had six wrestlers place in their respective weight classes. Brooklyn Baldwin (138) was second with a 3-1 record. Madi De La Cruz (132) also placed second with a 3-1 mark. Sara Shumway (120) matched that mark to place second.
Mareli Martin (165) finished fourth with a 3-2 record. Emilyta Tso (152) went 3-2 and placed fifth. Leslie Gonzales (235) also placed fifth with a 1-2 record.
The girls’ team will next compete at the Joseph City Invitational meet on Jan. 9-10.
