Both Holbrook soccer teams had plenty of action last week. The boys’ team hosted Snowflake in a regular season match on Wednesday. Holbrook stayed close through the first eight minutes of the scoreless match, but from that point on, the Lobos controlled the outcome. Snowflake led 8-0 and by halftime they quickly closed the game under the mercy rule midway through the second half of the 9-0 win.

Holbrook played in the Show Low tournament over the weekend and dropped all three matches they faced. On Friday, they fell to Blue Ridge 9-2, then dropped a 15-1 decision to Snowflake. Their only match on Saturday was an 11-2 defeat by Round Valley.

This week, the team will travel to Blue Ridge on Thursday. Holbrook is currently 0-4 in regular season matches.

The Lady Roadrunners traveled to Payson on Tuesday for a regular-season matchup with the Longhorns. Holbrook had their chances for a couple of scores, but the result was an 8-0 mercy rule loss.

The Ladies were also in a tournament over the weekend. They faced the host team, Chino Valley, on Friday and lost 6-2, but they did get their first two goals of the season. One by Maya Francisco and the other off the foot of Ryen Murray.
