The Winslow Unified School District Governing Board held a brief special meeting last week, to approve new hires. Members Debbie Martinez, Isabel Britton and Dodie Montoya were present, with Todd Wilcox and Janice Childers absent.
The board approved two personnel appointments: Denise Youvella as a paraprofessional at Bonnie Brennan Elementary and Zachary Herrin as a grounds worker. Members also approved a student fundraiser request from Winslow Junior High School Student Council to operate a snack cart.
The next meeting of the board will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in the meeting room located at 800 N. Apache.
