This past week, students in the Holbrook elementary schools wrote letters for pen pals that will be delivered by the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Pony Express riders on Jan. 29, as they make their way to Scottsdale. Every year students enjoy writing letters that are delivered via the Pony Express, however this year students participated in something new, writing to pen pals! Each student was given a student from Scottsdale to write a letter to, and they really enjoyed writing to their new pals. The Pony Express riders will ride to the schools on Jan. 28 to pick up the student’s letters. The Pony Express is a favorite tradition among the community.
