Apache Crown Dancers perform at NPC’s Cultural Kickoff Celebration

On Friday, Sept. 6, Northland Pioneer College campus in Snowflake, celebrated the beginning of the school year by hosting a Cultural Kickoff Celebration. The event included cultural performances, guest speakers and more. As photographed above, some of the performers included the Cibecue Apache Crown Dancers from Cibecue, taught by Joseph Tessay. This dance showcases the Dine tradition of the Crown Dance Ceremony. Overall, the event was a great way to learn about the different cultures from our area.
