The Winslow Chamber of Commerce recently hosted “A Taste of Winslow,” an annual fundraiser that has become a staple event in the community. This year, attendees enjoyed a sampling buffet from several of Winslow’s most popular restaurants and catering establishments, all for an admission fee of just $10.
Participating venues such as The Turquoise Room, Mi Pueblo, Relic Road, China Feast, The Sippe Shop, Pizza Hut, Yellow Snow and Walmart’s deli showcased their best offerings for guests. This was also the first time the residents of Winslow were given the chance to try the offerings from The Frybread House, a restaurant eagerly waiting to open on the corner of Williamson Avenue and Second Street. The variety of flavors displayed was a testament to the diverse people and food of the people of Winslow.
In addition to the buffet, the event included a live auction with a variety of items and experiences up for grabs, ranging from sports tickets to unique local services. One woman even walked away after winning a bid for a free pizza a week for a year from Pizza Hut. The evening also featured door prizes, a 50/50 raffle worth over $300, and a ticket raffle, adding layers of excitement and engagement for those present.
The auctioneers for the night were councilmember Darcy McKee and chamber CEO Bob Hall, who kept the prizes moving for more than four hours that night.
The Taste of Winslow is a long-standing tradition, drawing hundreds of participants each year. It serves not only as a fundraiser but also as a celebration of community and local cuisine. The proceeds from the event are used by the Winslow Chamber of Commerce to fund various initiatives that benefit the Winslow community.
