Dr. Dorothy Teresa Karcheski, NMD and chiropractor, 74, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024. She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of Bernard Peter Karcheski and Isabella Mary Carnecka.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard P. Karcheski Jr., and survived by her sister, Dr. Marilyn I. Schmidt, clinical psychologist in San Diego; nephew, Thomas M. Schmidt; and several cousins.
Upon the fulfilment of a childhood dream, Dorothy graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle. Subsequently, she pursued further studies and obtained her D.C. license.
While not engaged in treating her patients, she enjoyed hiking, gardening, and playing the flute, guitar and piano.
Dorothy devoted her life to her medical practice, providing excellent professional expertise and heartfelt care to all who sought her help. She loved Jesus Christ and joyfully served Him in her work.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 24, at Owens Mortuary, located at 409 N. 1st. Ave., in Holbrook. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m., with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook. Interment will follow at Holbrook Cemetery followed by a reception at the church.
