Mary Lou Ulibarri, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, with her children by her side at her home in Snowflake. She was born on Sept. 13, 1936, in McNary and grew up in Holbrook.
In October 1954, she married the love of her life, George, and they spent the next 68 years together. Her next chapter began as a homemaker, she raised five children, whom she adored. She was a master crocheter and loved to share her masterpiece doilies with friends and family. She was a devout Catholic and her faith became even stronger as she grew older.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Barela (Severo, Jr.); son, Aaron George Ulibarri; and her beloved husband, George.
She is survived by her sons, Norman Ulibarri (Sharon) of Snowflake and Gabriel Ulibarri of Show Low; and daughter, Cynthia Coor (Mike) of Queen Creek; along with 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.
She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Snowflake, with burial to follow at the Mike Ramsay Cemetery.
