The Wildcats entered the 1A State tournament as the No. 8 overall seed and won their first-round match vs No. 9 Antelope Union, 74-69 on Feb. 7. Jared Layden and Cort Miller both netted 20 points in the win.
That victory advanced them to the quarterfinal round where their season came to a close at the hands of the top seed and eventual 1A Champion, The Gregory School.
Joseph City outscored the Hawks in three of the four quarters, but a 10-point deficit in the second period was too much to overcome, as the Hawks prevailed 57-51. Eli James, Layden, and Cort Miller all scored in double figures in their final game of the season.
The Wildcats finished the season with an overall record of 21-11.
