On April 15, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Forest Service Road 86 by Baca Meadow near Heber in reference to an aggravated assault in progress. Jeffrey Domingos, 42, of Phoenix had allegedly fired several rounds from a firearm, threatening to kill a 33-year-old female. Domingos reportedly assaulted the victim, causing severe injury to her ribs and extensive bruising. Even with her injuries, she was able to escape from Domingos, run into the forest and wait for law enforcement to arrive. Following a search by deputies, Domingos was found and taken into custody without incident and the female was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Domingos was arrested for failure to comply with a court order and aggravated assault then booked into the Navajo County Jail. He is being held on a $2,500 bond.
