The Lady Wildcats made it all the way to the final game of the state tournament where they eventually finished as the 1A state runner-up.
The top four seeds in 1A all made the final four in Prescott over the weekend. Top-seeded Rock Point downed No. 4 Fort Thomas 59-35 in one semi-final, while Joseph City outlasted No. 3 St. David 47-36 in the other semi-final, setting up the championship game between the top two seeds.
Rock Point was the defending state champion and was unbeaten in regular season action. Joseph City came in with just two losses. By the time the dust had settled in the title game, Rock Point retained its title with a 49-45 win over Joseph City.
Joseph City had a tremendous season and can be proud of their 1A state runner-up trophy. They battled hard but came up just short of what has become a 1A powerhouse in Rock Point.
Joseph City finished its season with an overall record of 28-8.
