The Winslow Police Department received five reports of theft during the period of Jan. 9-15, according to dispatcher reports. At 1:42 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, a resident reported the theft of their car from Handee Carwash located at 1715 N. Hicks Ave. Eric Kanuho was arrested for theft of means of transportation, escape, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in connection with the event. At 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a resident reported the theft of a cell phone and a shotgun, from the 600 block of Jefferson Street. At 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, an employee of Flying J, located at 400 Transcon Lane, reported the theft of jewelry. At 3:38 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, an employee of Walmart, located at 700 Mikes Pike St., reported the theft of beer. At 5:03 p.m. on Sunday, a resident reported the theft of a vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Iron Horse Drive. Brendon Padilla, 19, was arrested for unlawful use of transportation in connection with the incident. He was booked into the Navajo County Jail.
