On Jan. 13, the Winslow Bulldogs traveled to Lakeside to take on the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets, with a large home fan base to cheer on their team.
In the first quarter the Yellowjackets would get a five-point lead which the Bulldogs would narrow down to a one-point lead in the closing seconds making the score, Winslow 12 and Blue Ridge 13.
In the second quarter the Bulldogs would grab the lead, outscoring the Yellowjackets 20 to 12, making the halftime score Winslow 32, Blue Ridge 25. In the third quarter the Yellowjackets would outscore the Bulldogs by one-point.
In the fourth quarter the game would come down to the final minutes of the game and even with the Yellowjackets outscoring the Bulldogs 12 to 10 the Bulldogs would still get the victory with a final score of Winslow 54, Blue Ridge 50.
Winslow had two players in double figures led by Kasey Monroe with 16 points and Blaine Begay with 12 points.
