The Lobos came away from the Epic Tourney with a championship plaque for winning the Gold Division of the tournament. They went 4-0 in their portion of the bracket with games played over the course of the three-day tournament.
Their run through the bracket began with a 60-44 win over Tonapah Valley in the tournament that began on Dec. 28. They backed that up with a 76-54 win over Florence the following afternoon. That win advanced them in the bracket where they defeated Seton Catholic 44-43 that night setting up the championship game the following Friday afternoon. In the title game they met up with Monument Valley and defeated the Mustangs 73-62 to win the title.
Snowflake got off to a slow start to the season due to their football team playing so deep into basketball season, but since they have been on the hardwood they have caught up quickly and now appear ready to face the grind of January and February in the 3A east region.
The team is 9-3 overall and 5-1 in power point contests.
