One collision was investigated by Holbrook police officers during the period of Nov. 23-29, according to dispatcher reports. At 9:37 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, a two vehicle, non-injury collision occurred at the intersection of Hopi Drive and Navajo Blvd. The vehicles involved were a red 2016 Jeep driven by Saraphina Gishie, 38, of Holbrook and a silver Ford truck pulling a horse trailer driven by Justin Briggs, 35, of Tolar, Texas. According to the report, Briggs was facing west at the intersection of Navajo Blvd. and Hopi Drive and turned north onto Navajo Blvd. when the light turned green. As he turned, he kept checking his mirrors as he was pulling a 30-foot trailer and needed a little more room to make the turn when he was hit on the driver side by Gishie. The damage to the truck was to the push bumper attached to the front of his vehicle where there was some scratches and paint transfer. Gishie stated that she did not think he would be taking up both lanes to turn and thought she was good to turn. The Jeep sustained damages to the rear passenger door, quarter panel and rear bumper. No citations were noted.
