Renee’ McGee Maxwell born on Aug. 30, 1943 in Farmington, N.M. passed away at 9:41 p.m. on Oct. 27, 2022 in Holbrook, while enveloped in the love and warmth of her family and friends. It’s hard to write an obituary for one who has sacrificed her entire life for the good of her family, but that was our mom. Renee McGee Maxwell was a stay-at-home mother for over 20 years before joining Northland Pioneer College in the role of transcript evaluator. Renee was a fighter and a two-time cancer survivor with endeavors to write a memoir with her sister. Renee was loved by everyone in the neighborhood as evidenced every Friday when her five loaves of bread came out of the oven. She was an avid supporter for children at risk and/or with disabilities long before being blessed with grandchildren on the spectrum. Renee’ taught us that above all else, there must be compassion and kindness for anyone in need. Her childhood friends are loyal to this day, stating that she was always kind. Renee was married to Myron Maxwell for 56 years while raising their family. Renee’s Legacy of love, kindness and compassion will be a blessing to us all for many generations to come. Renee is survived by her 10 children, her grand-children and her great-grand-children. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the LDS Stake Center in Holbrook.
