Train fire reported near Winslow

Photo by Richard LarsonOn Saturday, July 9, the Winslow Fire Department was called to extinguish a fire in two shipping containers on a train on the BNSF railroad west of Winslow. It was reported the one container contained furniture and spread to the second container which held pool supplies and chemicals. Water was still dripping from the shipping containers this morning. The four cars involved were moved to a siding next to the Gazebo downtown. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
